At Heathmont Animal Hospital we have a proud tradition of supporting not only animal related charities but also relief organisations working in developing countries. In keeping with our commitment to social justice we have registered as a Fairtrade Workplace which means we only buy Fairtrade coffee, tea and chocolate.
Fairtrade is about better prices, decent working conditions. local sustainability and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers in the developing world. Many people in the West are unaware that the coffee ,tea and chocolate they consume are produced by companies that employ or condone child and/or slave labour. Fairtrade ensures workers are treated fairly and gives the consumer an easy way of helping those in developing countries.
