Meet Our Team

  • Dr. Katie Gaut

    Practice Owner & Veterinarian (BVSc, BAnVetBioSci)

    Dr. Katie practiced at Heathmont Animal Hospital for 7 years as an Associate Veterinarian before becoming the new Practice Owner in 2024. She is a graduate of The University of Sydney, has undertaken further studies in Small Animal Internal Medicine and is a member of the International Sled Dog Veterinary Medical Association. Katie’s professional interests include internal medicine and cardiology, as well as soft tissue surgery. Katie lives with her husband and her rescue Staffy x Corgi named Tuppence. In her time away from work, Katie enjoys travelling, reading and being outdoors.

  • Dr. Kaylee Onn

    Veterinarian (DVM)

    Dr. Kaylee is an alumnus of The University of Melbourne, graduating at the end of 2017 and joining the team at Heathmont full time in 2019. She is loved by her clients and patients alike for her calm and kind manner. Kaylee has a particular interest in Animal Behaviour, having completed further studies in 2023 on this topic, and enjoys working with owners to improve their pets behavioural concerns. Outside of work, Dr. Kaylee loves baking, gaming and exploring Melbourne and the surrounds for great new food experiences!

  • Dr. Malinee Sirikhant

    Veterinarian (BVSc)

    Dr. Malinee started with HAH as a new graduate veterinarian back in 2016 when she graduated The University of Queensland. She left the clinic in 2017 to gain further experience before returning to HAH as a permanent part time staff member in 2022. Mal enjoys being in the surgery the most, is a competent ultrasonographer and is upskilling herself in pathology in order to continue offering our clients the best service she can. Outside of work loves going for a run, playing netball and spending time with her husband, Chris, and sons Jordan and Kasper.

  • Beck

    Practice Manager

    Beck is a qualified Cert IV veterinary nurse, a Registered Veterinary Nurse with the VNCA (Veterinary Nurses Council of Australia) and has been nursing for over 20 years! She joined the HAH team in March 2025 and has been an incredible asset to the team and invaluable support in helping Dr. Katie bring the clinic into it’s next iteration.

    Helping animals has been Beck’s lifelong dream and, even after 20 years, she is still passionate and motivated to continue learning and adding to her skillset. Beck has 7 pets and son, Seth, to keep her busy outside of work. She also enjoys horse riding, fishing and camping with family and friends.

  • Maddie

    Wellness Officer, Veterinary Nurse

    Maddie first made an impression on us when she undertook work experience at the clinic for school in 2016 and we were thrilled to welcome her back in 2020 as a permanent staff member. She has since become a skilled veterinary nurse, taken over management of our social media and leads the team in patient and staff wellbeing at the clinic. Maddie holds a Bachelor of Environmental Science, majoring in Wildlife Conservation and Biology, as well as a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and is working her way towards becoming a Registered Veterinary Nurse with the VNCA. In her spare time she loves exploring the great outdoors and expressing her creative side through various artistic mediums.

  • Laura

    Veterinary Nurse

    Laura is an experienced, Cert IV qualified veterinary nurse and a Registered Veterinary Nurse with the VNCA. She joined the HAH team as a permanent part time nurse in March 2026 after a decade spent in zookeeping, and brings a passion and skill for exotics and wildlife nursing to our team. She demonstrates unmatched positive energy, a love for all creatures and a passion for our patients everyday.

    Outside of work she raises her two cavoodles, Olly and Zara, as well as her African Grey parrot (Daisy), Eclectus parrot (Evie), conures, frogs and lizards.

  • Melissa

    Trainee Veterinary Nurse

    Melissa has been working at HAH since early-mid 2025, gaining skills and confidence as she studies for her Cert IV in veterinary nursing. She undertakes work in all aspects of nursing; from reception, to anaesthetic monitoring and nurse consults. She was previously trained as a groomer and particularly enjoys getting to flex those skills on patients who require grooming under sedation or whilst in for surgery.

    Melissa lives with her partner, John, and their cats Lily and Lucifer, as well as Missy the German Shepherd and Tenshi the Rottweiler.

  • Clara

    Junior Receptionist

    Clara first came to HAH on work experience in 2025 and we were so impressed with her maturity, initiative and work ethic that we asked her to join our staff! She helps out in all aspects of the clinic during her weekend and evening shifts, particularly on reception, and is frequently responsible for getting the clinic restocked and cleaned up after a busy day.

    Clara will complete her VCE studies in 2026 and is hoping to enter veterinary school upon graduation.

  • Emma

    Receptionist

    Emma has been a part of the HAH team since 2012. She holds a Bachelor in Biomedical Science, with Honours in Genetics, and is married with two kids (Olivia and William).

    Emma only works casually now due to personal circumstances but her hobbies include fostering rescue pets, so if you’re looking for a new furry companion feel free to have a chat with her!

    Her fur-family includes Brooke, her Field Spaniel, and Domino the Dalmatian as well as Percy, Milo and Poppy the cats.
